Select your lengths according to your desired style. Below serves as a guide, however, we encourage you to discuss the best lengths to achieve your "hair vision" with a professional stylist prior to your appointment.

If you're planning gentle layers, we recommend measuring from one inch above your natural hairline at the center of your nape area to the desired point at the center of nape, shoulders or back. This will be your longest length. All ounces ordered should be of a similar length.

For defined layers, we recommend measuring from one inch above your natural hairline at the center of your nape area to the desired point at the center of your nape, shoulders or back. This will be your longest length. For each layer desired, subtract an incremental, compounded two inches from your longest length. For example, if your longest length is 22 inches and you desire 3 layers, your layers would be 22, 20 and 18 inches.

For a blunt cut, a cut with all even layers, we recommend measuring from the top center of your head to the desired point at the center of your nape, shoulders or back. This will be your longest length. Your remaining lengths will be an incremental, compounded two inches shorter than your longest length. For short styles, typically no more than two lengths are required. For medium styles, no more than three lengths are required. And for long styles, not more than four lengths are required. For example, if your longest length is 22 inches and you desire 3 layers, your layers would be 22, 20 and 18 inches.
